《憲問》 Passage 14.44
闕黨童子將命。或問之曰：「益者與？」子曰：「吾見其居於位也，見其與先生並行也。非求益者也，欲速成者也。」
Legge Translation (1861)
A youth of the village of Que was employed by Confucius to carry the messages of his visitors.Some one asked about him, saying: "I suppose he has made great progress?"
The Master said: "I observe that he is fond of occupying the seat of a full-grown man; I observe that he walks side by side with his elders. He is not one who is seeking to make progress in learning. He wishes quickly to become a man."
