子貢欲去告朔之餼羊。子曰：「賜也，爾愛其羊，我愛其禮。」
Legge Translation (1861)
Zigong wished to do away with the offering of a sheep connected with the inauguration of the first day of each month.The Master said: "Ci, you love the sheep; I love the ceremony."
